Abstract

— This study focuses on the creation and implementation of an Android-based educational application designed to improve waste management practices within smart villages. The application addresses the needs of both local communities and village administrations, providing residents with access to waste management resources while enabling village officials to efficiently input and manage waste-related data through a web-based platform. Utilizing a REST API, the system ensures smooth communication between the mobile application and the web interface. Developed using the Waterfall methodology, the project followed stages including requirements analysis, system design, implementation, testing, and maintenance. The results highlight the application’s potential to support sustainable waste management, raise environmental awareness, and tackle ecological issues. Achieving an 80% user approval rate during testing, the application demonstrates itself as a reliable and user-friendly tool aligned with Indonesia's Smart Village goals. Future plans include enhancing user experience and incorporating advanced features to ensure broader adoption and scalability over time.
